OMAHA FARMERS MARKETS

Benson Farmers Market
Many vendors grow their produce right here in the Benson neighborhood!!! Great "small town" feel and friendly folks at this market!! Benson Farmers Market is located in the historic downtown Benson neighborhood of Omaha, Nebraska. It was started in 2008 to help the area grow and prosper. We are sincerely committed to a sense of community and thus wanted to support the local efforts toward that end. A farmers market would be in the right place at the right time. Can the market change the world in some small way by the way we eat? We certainly can try one person at a time. (This listing was last updated on Feb. 11, 2010)
Military Ave at Maple Street between 61st and 62nd Streets
Saturdays 8 a.m. - 12 noon
May -Sept.

The market will be based around produce, fresh meats, fresh dairy, and plants. Seeking vendors in any of these categories. I also hope to have a couple of bands play throughout the summer, as well as other attractions to get people interested in visiting the market. Florence Mill Farmers Market
A farmers market at a unique location: a historic, agricultural site that is also one of Omaha's preservation success stories! The Florence Mill is a natural setting to serve growers and customers as a farmers market! Surrounded by a green field, this historic/agricultural site has been transformed from an obsolete mill & country grain elevator into a heritage-tourism landmark with a museum and an art gallery. Now a farmers market brings agriculture back to the old mill in a lively way. Besides fresh, locally grown produce and artisan crafts, weekly guests will present fun and educational topics related to farming, gardening, cooking or nature: from 4-H presentations on raising sheep or rabbits to raising ponies or herbs. Outdoorsy things a market with a meadow can do. The Florence Mill Farmers Market is every Sunday through the end of August. Maybe longer due to vendor requests. The Market's sleep-in-Sunday hours are from 11am to 3pm. The Mill Museum and ArtLoft are open until 5pm. Vendor tables and tents are both outside and inside, situated on a Fairbanks Scale that once weighed trucks loaded with grain. Tour Nebraska's only structure that bridges the historical eras of Pioneer Overland Trails and Teritorial settlement with hand-hewn 1846 timbers still part of its rustic construction. The Florence Mill is located conveniently next to I-680, Exit 13 at 9102 North 30th Street in Omaha. Parking is free and always within sight of the Mill.
